ABOUT OUR CENTRE

Canterbury Childcare Centre was founded by Jane Webb as she wanted to create a warm and welcoming space where children thrive. With over 47 years of experience in the childcare field, Jane is passionate about creating a nurturing environment where young learners feel safe, loved, and excited to grow.

Her dedication to quality care is at the heart of everything the centre does, from the handpicked staff to the thoughtful programs designed to spark curiosity and creativity in children. Jane believes in treating every child with respect and kindness, encouraging their individuality while fostering a sense of belonging.

At the core of her values are integrity, empathy, and a deep commitment to community. She believes that strong relationships with families are key to a child’s success, and she works hard to ensure that parents feel supported and involved in their child’s learning journey. Jane is also a firm believer in lifelong learning and always strives to stay informed about the latest in early childhood education.

Under Jane’s leadership, Canterbury Childcare Centre has become a trusted part of the community, known for its personal touch, flexible approach, and strong connections with families. She’s committed to making sure each child gets the best start in life, and her passion for early childhood education shows in every aspect of the centre.

Parent Information

CHILD CARE SUBSIDY (CCS)

The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is the Australian Government’s financial assistance program that helps

families with the cost of approved childcare services.

EARLY YEARS LEARNING FRAMEWORK

The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) is Australia's national framework for early childhood education, designed to guide educators in providing high-quality learning experiences for children from birth to five years old.

It focuses on play-based learning and aims to support children's development in key areas:

Belonging – Helping children feel secure in their environment and relationships.

Being – Encouraging children to explore, learn, and engage in the present moment.

Becoming – Supporting their transition and development towards school and beyond.

IMMUNISATIONS

Immunisation helps protect our community from serious diseases by using our body's natural defence system to build resistance to a disease. Getting vaccinated is an important part of immunisation.

MATERNAL & CHILD HEALTH SERVICES

Free universal primary health service available for all Victorian families with children from birth to school age.

PRE SCHOOL FIELD OFFICER PROGRAM

Preschool Field Officers (PSFOs) provide short-term guidance and coaching to early childhood educators.

This support aims to improve the inclusion of children with additional needs.

What Our Parents Say

You know you’re on to a winner when the only time the kids cry is when they’re getting picked up and don’t want to leave! We are so lucky that our kids get to spend time each week at Canterbury Childcare, and we can't thank them enough for the amazing work they all do.

It’s not easy leaving your children at childcare, but the team at Canterbury Childcare make it easy. Despite the pit at the bottom of your stomach, you have a great sense of relief knowing your children are well known, well cared for, and well taught. The team treats each child as an individual and helps them reach their full potential.

To say we are happy with CCCC would be an understatement. The team are more like an extension of our family than a group of highly qualified care staff. You have shown a mum who was hesitant about childcare that not only can our little guy be cared for by someone else, but he’s thriving both socially and developmentally because of Canterbury Childcare Centre.

We all love Canterbury Childcare Centre! The wonderful team creates a caring and stimulating environment, making drop-offs so easy. The educators are lovely and have been at CCCC for a while, so they know all the children really well. We really appreciate how Sally and the team create a great sense of community and provide advice and support with challenges like toddler tantrums, sleeping, and toilet training.

Our daughter has been at Canterbury Childcare for three years, and we have been so impressed with the caring nature of the educators. She often tells us how much she loves childcare and the staff there. The daily updates and photos allow us to discuss her day at home. The small size of the centre and the consistency of staff really help, making it the perfect environment for our child while we go to work.
